1300 miles later, still no punctures.

Before upgrading to these tires, I used to ride on my stock tires that came with my bike(Vittoria Zaffiro) and had to replace my tubes every month due to the punctures from my unfriendly commuting route. 1300 miles later, still using the same route, but with the upgraded tires, I have had 0 punctures. I used to get one puncture per 200 miles on this route, but so far 0 per 1300 miles!This is for the commuters or utility riders, not for the racers. I noticed this tire was heavier than my old Vittoria when I was installing, but I do not notice the difference while on my ride/commute. Like the other reviewer, it took me longer than the usual amount of time to install them on my wheels, because they are stiffer due to the increased thickness and material, but, in the end, you spend less time/money replacing tubes, because these tires protect your tubes very well.If you are not going for the speed, I believe these tires are for you. If you are racing, you should get the famous Gatorskins, at twice the cost.

So far, so good - but hard to install

I purchased one of these at a local bike shop to replace a Bontrager Race All-Weather Hard-Case 700x28c rear tire that picked up a piece of glass.I've only put 10 miles on it so far (commute), so I can't say much about it's reliability, but it's ride-ability is nice, so far. One thing I don't like about it, is that it was absolutely impossible for me to install on my rim - even with using tire levers. It's the first tire I've had to bring to a bike shop to have installed. I dread the day I get a flat, because I don't think I'll have any chance of replacing the tube road-side.I'll write a follow-up in several months to let you all know how they hold up.[edit - 10/16/12]My nightmare came true - I got a flat the other day after about 900 miles on these tires. A tiny piece of very sharp, very rigid metal worked it's way through the center of the tread of the tire. This tire was so tight on my rim that it took me nearly 15 minutes just to remove it. While attempting to re-install it, I managed to puncture both of my spare tubes. This tire is nearly impossible to install without the use of tire levers - at least on the Bontrager rims that came on my bike from the factory (2012 Trek FX 7.5).I was curious, so I installed them on a spare rear wheel that I had laying around - a 32 hole Mavic Open Pro laced to a Shimano Dura-Ace hub - It certainly wasn't easy to install, but it would definitely be doable road-side without levers, or chance of pinching the tubes. Great tire overall - just very tight on certain rims.

Hardest Tire Installation Ever

One week of use. I'll post Puncture and Wear experience in 6 months.I've installed and used many tires in the last 23 years.The U shape is very wide, making very difficult mounting with two hands, clamps where necessary for me. Once installed both tires had a 9 inch section very difficult to align in pre-inflation process to obtain a circular external shape once inflated.Grip and vibration abortion on city roads commute is great.
