Not a polish for aluminum

used on aluminum, Leaves a mat frosted kind of finish, not really a polish.But, it may be good after sanding, and before using something like mothers.

Even cleans off heavy rust and bring a shine back to the chrome as long as the rust hasn't gone through the plating.

A bit stronger than Bartender's Friend

I generally use it on cookware that's gotten serious stained (no longer a problem on the stove-top since we went to induction cooking, but still happens in the oven). Bartender's Friend (presumably oxalic acid) is my first response - it's about a third the price and almost as good - but I was shopping for a replacement for my dwindling supply of Chromax and glad to have found it. I'd be disappointed to run out.Note that Chromax seems okay with "brushed" aluminum finishes, since they basically look like what the other poster described in the first place.
