The Runabout 8 hybrid bicycle is the perfect blend of comfort, convenience and performance for recreational riding and touring. It combines Shimano's 8-speed gearing with suspension on both the front fork and seat post to provide an incredibly smooth, quiet and thoroughly enjoyable ride. This recreational hybrid bike is a combination road bike, off-road bike and comfort bike. Built on a 700C road bike frame, this bike adds front suspension to smooth-out the road, a suspension seat post for comfort, and riser handlebars for control and safety. It also features an adjustable stem for setting just the right handlebar position, slightly wider tires for more versatile riding surfaces, and Shimano's 8-speed Premium gearing to deliver a smooth, enjoyable, worry-free ride. The Runabout offers a gear range comparable to 21 gears on a 24-gear chain bike. By eliminating all the overlapping and redundant gears of chain-derailleur systems, the Runabout's 8 evenly spaced gearing is low enough for climbing moderate hills, and high enough for cruising at speeds of more than 30 MPH. Honestly, how many gears do you really need? The Runabout offers you the gear range you need, but in a system that is smoother and simpler to operate. Most of all, with its fully enclosed shaft drive and internal gearing, there is no grease to get on your hands or clothes and no derailleurs or sprockets to tear clothes or cut fingers. So whenever you are ready to ride, the Runabout will be ready as well. This is why the Runabout is a perfect bike for daily commutes or recreational rides. Dynamic is a great company with which to work. Bicycle arrived damaged by shipping carrier. Dynamic had me take to a local bike shop for eval and repair. They then promptly reimbursed me for all costs. About 250 miles on the cycle now...is as avertised & trouble free. I use it for fitness (3-4 days/wk--mostly paved) and the gear range is high enough that I can do light road work, yet can handle 25+ mph winds up-hill in the bottom two gears. In the top gear I average about 15+ mph on the level (20-25 mph on slight down-hills). I am 60ish and was looking for a reliable, durable, and easy to use bicycle. I believe I've found it.Post Script--750 miles on the bike now (2 century rides)...been pulling a single wheel trailer loaded w/gallon jugs of H2o (50#) for training/fitness (2-3x/week w/trailer 10+ mile runs plus 1-2x/week light/pleasure 7+ mi). Bike has handled extra weight and strain w/o complaint and no issues. Added an aero-bar for high wind days/longer distances. Average outing typically about an hour or less and handles well in traffic areas or on the road. Maintenance minimal. It does the job, is easy to use, requires little attention, and has some fun factor. July 2012

Originally, I ordered the Dynamic Runabout City 8 model through Amazon but it was only when I inquired to Dynamic about the delay in shipping that Dynamic informed me the City 8 is no longer available in my size, is obsolete, and has been replaced by the Runabout 8, which I ended up buying directly from Dynamic at considerably higher cost.I am generally pleased with the quality of my new bike, but here are some negative edges to my buying experience:* The promise that "we handle 90% of the assembly..." seemed like bull to me when, after I'd spent a couple hours doing the required assembly, I then had to take the bike to a local expert to get the front breaks and spokes properly adjusted. I could not have completed assembly without this expert and his specialized equipment.* Tire pressures were off and needed additional inflation according to the same local expert.* The unusual dimensions of the computer-designed frame create special problems for mounting accessories designed to be attached to standard sized frame members (e.g., the diameter of a given frame member on the Runabout 8 varies along the length of that member, and Runabout 8 frame members are not symmetrical along the entirety of their length.* The bait (on Amazon) and switch (to dealing with the dealer and being pushed to another model) cost me considerably more than I originally planned to spend--considerably more than the City 8, although this might be justified by some of the improvements made.* There has been no follow-up by Dynamic to make sure things were going well with the purchase.Although I am impressed with the Runabout, its features, and its quality, I am displeased with the fact that Dynamic left no notice on their Amazon listing for the City 8 model indicating this model is obsolete and not available in some sizes and instead allowed my Amazon order to go through and for a week or so to pass before letting me know of a problem and then only when I called to inquire what might be the problem! For reasons given, I am unimpressed with the dealer and will avoid ordering from them in the future.
