I purchased these tires to replace a decaying set which had seen much better days. When they arrived, I was pleased to note that Amazon is now shipping in a box which is only slightly larger than the tires, instead of the size of a file cabinet (as was the situation with my previous tire order). It's always good to be a little greener. Now, BOTH tires could still have fit in one box, instead of two separate boxes, but I'm grateful for the improvement.The tires themselves appear perfectly made. I needed a plastic tire lever the help put them on the rims. The tread surface is essentially smooth, with shallow curving lines which are intended to carry water from the center of the contact patch to the outside edge. The tire is directional, so install them with the "V" design pointing "down" when viewed from the front (no great harm will occur if you install them backwards, but traction on wet pavement may be reduced). After installing them and pumping them up to 75 psi, I went for a 15 mile ride. I enjoyed the way they roll smoothly on pavement, and offer responsive handling. They are not as fast the the very narrow tires used by "roadies", but probably faster by a large margin than any knobby-tired mountain bike on the planet. They are also silent, no howling knobs. So they make a good, all-around compromise tire for casual rides. Public Bicycles of San Francisco uses the Kwest tire on their bicycles.The tires are also quite handsome, with all black tread and sidewall, with white lettering on both sides stating the makers name "Kenda" and the tire name "Kwest". They look very dramatic on my shiny black hybridized 10 speed Steyer-Puch.On the matter of tire sizing, it is common for a tire maker to make tires narrower than their "nominal" size in order to save weight, because many riders are very conscious of advertised weight in their tires, and one way to make the tire weigh less is to make it slightly narrower. So, when I say this tire is a little bit narrower than it's "nominal" size, it isn't anything to be concerned with, the same thing can be said for almost any bicycle tire.This tire's "nominal" size is 700 x 38, and actual measurement of the tire width shows them to be 1.265" wide (35mm), or .080" (3mm) wider than my old tires which also had a "nominal" width of 38mm, but an actual width of 32mm. Bottom line is, these tires are closer, by a small amount to a "real" 38mm width than were my old tires. I had no problem with the width of the old tires and rode them happily for a long, long time. I also have no problem with the width of these tires. Your current tires are probably narrower than their marked sizes as well, so don't let the small difference in "nominal" width and actual width put you off.

About a year ago, I replaced a set of Specialized Infinity hybrid tires with these due to the fact that one of the Infinities got a bubble after only 3 years. The replacement I decided on was the Kenda Kwest due to good reviews I read and the bang for the buck.A year and 1,000 miles later, I couldn't be happier with this tire. The rolling resistance is considerably lower than my Infinities were and my cushy front suspension hybrid is now amazingly almost as fast as my road bike!!! Yet these tires are still bulky enough to use on dirt trails.Please note, this tire is the Kenda Kwest with PRC (not K-shield) protection, and has a max pressure rating of 85 psi. There are no Kenda Kwest 700 hybrid tires with a 100 psi max pressure rating. Kenda actually lists this size as "hi-pressure" on their website but doesn't list an actual psi rating. Regardless, this is a great tire and 85 psi lets you roll well enough!!Highly recommended.

I rode the tread off the tires that came on my bike and needed replacement. I found these tires and the price was good so I pulled the trigger. They have seemed to wear very well, have better traction than the chinese junk that came on my bike. These would not work very well off road but I rarely do that so they work great for me. I would not hesitate to purchase them again.
