I own two of these babies and love them. I have a men's and a lady's hybrid 700c bikes and have added rear racks, rear folding baskets and front handlebar baskets to both bikes. I figured with the kickstand the bikes came with I'd have to be constantly picking them up off the ground if I loaded anything more than a toothpick in any of the baskets. Well, guess what? The double kickstand not only holds each bike upright fully loaded but does so in a great manner. The one tire is off the ground about 1" or so and the bike is level and does not tip over. Hurray!! The Swiss have done it again designing a double kickstand that works. This is the same double kickstand design that the Swiss use on their Swiss Army Bikes that cost upwards of $2K if you go out and buy them. The double kickstands are welded onto the frames of these bikes! The quality of the material and design of this double kickstand tells it all. That's why it costs so much. At first I tried to cheap it out with another brand of double kickstands and once I got that one on my bike it had a horrible zero clearance below the actual kickstand when it was in the up position(a real road hazard when riding) I decided to bite the bullet and get the best. Oh, and YES both my kickstands CAME with the little rubber feet already attached. I can't get them off to glue them back on so I don't think they'll be coming off in a big hurry. The kickstand legs fold nicely up under the frame like a single kickstand does. You do have to pull the bike up a little to properly set the bike on the kickstand. I gently pull my bike up and back and it sets just perfectly on this double kickstand. Basically this is a case of "you definitely get what you pay for" when it comes to double kickstands. You can cheap it out but in my case I could not as I bring my bikes inside the house and have several steps to go up and the other cheapie kickstand would not clear the steps. This kickstand definitely clears the stairs and then some. Out of a 10 I give this a 10. I recommend these to anyone who wants their bike to stand straight up. I think the other reviewer didn't have it properly attached or not properly tightened as I have not experienced any problems with my Pletschers. And you might think twice before you even want to cut down the kickstand. If you want your bike tire up in the air so you can adjust the gears or brakes easily this kickstand allows you to do just that very easily. My son actually sat on his bike and pedelled while it was on the kickstand with no problem at all. The bike does not tip over with this design if properly tightened. Beware of trolls giving bad reviews of great products. This is a great product. Although a bit more in $ than a conventional single kickstand it makes a lot of sense to get one and put on your bike even if you don't have baskets, racks, etc. as you want your bike to stand up and not flop over in the least bit of wind.

***If your bottom bracket is less than 11.5 inches from the ground, be aware that there is a 290mm stand that you can consider buying instead.***There are two lengths of this kickstand available from Pletscher. From the side of the box: The standard size fits most bikes up to 290mm (up to 11.4 inches). There is also a longer size for bikes where the bottom bracket is more than 290mm (>11.4 inches) from the ground. Be sure to measure the height of the bike frame from just behind the bottom bracket (where the pedal cranks connect to the frame) to the ground.The stand being sold here is the 320mm, which is the longer version of the two stands. My bike's bottom bracket is just under 11.4 inches, so the stand is a little longer than it should be but since I usually pull off the pavement to stop the extra length allows the feet to sink into the ground if it's soft while still supporting the bike. This is better than the alternative where the kickstand sinks into the ground but doesn't give enough support to keep the bike upright.However, when stopping on pavement with a clean bike the 320mm kickstand raises the rear wheel 5" from the ground, giving the bike a pronounced 'nose-down' look. When the rear rack is loaded with saddlebags, the balance changes and the front wheel goes up 6" from the ground giving it a 'nose-up' angle. This can actually be quite handy when changing a tire or doing simple maintenance work and the bike can remain upright while you work.Personally, I rate function over appearance so don't mind having the extra leg length available for stops where the ground is soft but think that this posting could have done a better job of mentioning the bike sizing info for the different kickstand heights so buyers can select the kickstand that is right for their ride.As for the quality of the stand itself: It's second to none. Very solid when deployed and the action of opening and closing is crisp. One bit of advice from other bikers is to make sure you don't over-tighten the bolt of the stand to the frame as it can damage the frame. That sounds worse than it is. Simply tighten it to the point where the legs don't wiggle when in the up position but can still be moved slightly with moderate pressure. It should be firm but not torqued anywhere as tight/solid as the seat post. Continuing to tighten it much further past that point can damage the frame of the bike.

It was lighter than expected, worth the weight cost to keep the paint on a bike that I will lock up in a bike rack often. Don't think that mine is off balance like the other review, it sets level and even. The retract/extend operation is very smooth, very high quality work. I wonder if the other fellow could have mounted it slightly off? Oh, and don't bother with those rubber boots from that other company that Amazon suggests, they are not the right ones, they interfere with the retract (up) position. Why they don't offer the right ones from Pletscher I don't know - they include them if you order from their site.
