When I order theses tire to replace the wore out ones on my old Manga Urban bike. They have better tread then OEM tires that came with the bike. Now I enjoy riding my old bike more then my $500 dollar cross over bike.

These tires work well in small to medium gravel and even can handle straight up rocky terrain without you having to worry about them wandering too bad. Even on muddy and wet limestone trails they have not let me down. They absolutely excel in medium grass and hardpack where the file-like center tread gives good rolling resistance while the much more aggressive lugging on the sides give stable cornering.BUT... they handle badly on paved surfaces. The center tread gives the expected but minimal rolling resistance but the deal-breaker is that any reasonably sharp corner results in those previously great knobs hitting the pavement with no real transition leading to horrible vibration. I can't tell how stable they are because the vibration makes it feel as though you are going to lose traction at any moment and I don't want to push it. On the plus side they handle chip-seal pavement reasonably well and didn't seem to pick up too many flats.A good tire for general purpose off-road use but look elsewhere if you need something for fast and curvy on-road routes.

I bought these tires as a replacement for the stock tires that came on my cyclocross, they hum a lot more on pavement and dont feel as fast as the maxis cross tires my pinarello cross came with. I got some road rims and tires and put these tires aside, a year later I went to inflate the tires and the sidewall of one tire was delaminating or splitting around half the tire. they were stored in a mostly dark garage without direct sunlight shining on them. Rubber rot in less than 5 years is not quality design in my opinion. I would not recommend this tire or buy again.
